Connect ShipHero to Rig

Sync ShipHero orders, shipments, returns, purchase orders, products and per-warehouse inventory into Rig. ShipHero issues a long-lived refresh token to a developer user, and Rig turns it into a fresh access token at every sync.

    Before you start

    • You need to be able to add a developer user under My Account in ShipHero.
    • If you are a 3PL with a parent account, have the customer account ID ready for the customer you want to scope to.

Step 1: Create a developer user and get its tokens

    1. In ShipHero, go to My Account → Developer Users.
    2. Click Add Third-Party Developer.
    3. Enter a first name, last name and email address, then click Add Developer.
    4. Copy the Refresh Token. ShipHero shows the access token once as well, but Rig only needs the refresh token.

    Keep the refresh token safe
Anyone with a refresh token can create new access tokens for your account. Treat it like a password.

Step 2: Connect it in Rig

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

    1. In Rig, open Connections, choose the Connectors tab and go to Sources & actions.
    2. Search for ShipHero, open the card and click Connect.
    3. Refresh token: Paste the refresh token you copied.
    4. Customer account ID (3PL): Leave it blank to sync the whole account. As a 3PL, enter a customer account ID to scope orders and purchase orders to that customer.
    5. Click Continue. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click Connect.
    6. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click Sync on its row; Test pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

    What Rig pulls in

ShipHero lands in its own shiphero schema in your warehouse:

    • Orders: orders and their line items.
    • Shipments: shipments with shipping labels and line items.
    • Returns: returns and their line items.
    • Purchase orders: purchase orders and their line items.
    • Catalogue and stock: products, vendors, warehouses and per-warehouse inventory.

    Good to know

    • ShipHero charges every query in credits. An account holds 4,004 credits restored at 60 a second, so a big first sync pauses and resumes as credits recover.
    • Orders and purchase orders sync on their updated time and shipments by date. Products, vendors, returns and per-warehouse inventory are re-read in full each sync.
    • ShipHero access tokens last 28 days, and Rig mints a new one each sync from the refresh token.
    • To disconnect ShipHero, click the bin icon on the source's row under Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

    What people use this for

    • Track the order to shipment pipeline
    • Manage inbound and stock together
    • Analyse returns at line level
