Connect Unleashed to Rig

Unleashed is inventory and order management software. Rig reads about forty parts of it, from products and stock on hand to sales orders, purchase orders, assemblies and the reference tables around them.

    Before you start

    • You need the API id and key for your Unleashed company. Unleashed makes these available to the account owner, so ask the owner if you cannot see them.
    • Each company in Unleashed has its own id and key. Use the pair for the company you want in Rig.

Step 1: Find your Unleashed API id and key

    1. Sign in to Unleashed as the account owner.
    2. Open Integration and choose Unleashed API Access.
    3. Copy the API id, which is a GUID, and the API key.

Treat the pair like a login
Unleashed says the API id and key are equivalent to a login and password. Share them only with Rig.

Step 2: Connect it in Rig

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

    1. In Rig, open Connections, choose the Connectors tab and go to Sources & actions.
    2. Search for Unleashed, open the card and click Connect.
    3. API id: Paste the API id.
    4. API key: Paste the API key.
    5. Click Continue. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click Connect.
    6. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click Sync on its row; Test pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

    What Rig pulls in

Unleashed lands in its own unleashed schema in your warehouse:

    • Stock and inventory: products, stock on hand, a daily stock on hand table, batch numbers, serial numbers, stock adjustments, stock counts, recost adjustments and warehouse stock transfers.
    • Sales: sales orders, sales quotes, invoices, credit notes, sales shipments, sales order groups and salespersons.
    • Purchasing and production: purchase orders, supplier returns, supplier return reasons, assemblies and bills of materials.
    • Customers and suppliers: customers, customer types, customer delivery addresses and suppliers.
    • Pricing and reference data: product prices, sell price tiers, product groups, product brands, attribute sets, units of measure, warehouses, accounts, taxes, currencies, companies, delivery methods, payment terms and shipping companies.

Transfers and similar documents arrive with their lines as child tables.

    Good to know

    • Unleashed signs every request with an HMAC-SHA256 signature made from your API key, so Rig never sends the key itself.
    • The biggest document streams, which are sales orders, invoices, sales shipments and assemblies, load their first history in date windows, newest first. A large account can take many hours to finish a first load, and a sync that is interrupted carries on without starting that stream again.
    • After the first load, each sync asks Unleashed only for records changed since the last one.
    • To disconnect Unleashed, click the bin icon on the source's row under Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

    What people use this for

    • Get true landed cost and margin
    • Plan stock against real demand
    • Track batches and traceability
