Connect Typeform to Rig
Sync your Typeform forms, the questions inside each one, and every completed response into Rig. Typeform connects with a personal access token that has read access to forms and responses.
Before you start
- You need to be able to sign in to the Typeform account that owns the forms.
- The token reads what its creator can see, so create it from the account or workspace member that has access to the forms you want.
Step 1: Create a Typeform personal access token
- Sign in to Typeform. In the upper-left corner, open the drop-down next to your username and click Account.
- In the left menu, click Personal tokens.
- Click Generate a new token and give it a name such as "Rig".
- Choose the scopes
forms:readandresponses:read. - Click Generate token and copy it straight away. Typeform shows the token once.
Step 2: Connect it in Rig
Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.
- In Rig, open
Connections, choose theConnectorstab and go toSources & actions. - Search for Typeform, open the card and click
Connect. - Personal access token: paste the token you generated.
- Click
Continue. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and clickConnect. - The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click
Syncon its row;Testpulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.
What Rig pulls in
Typeform lands in its own typeform schema in your warehouse:
- Forms: the list of your forms with their type and timestamps.
- Form fields: each form's questions, with the choices, so answers can be matched to the question that produced them.
- Responses: submitted answers, loaded incrementally on submission time.
Good to know
- Only completed responses sync. Partial and abandoned responses are not returned.
- Typeform allows two requests a second per account, shared by forms and responses, so a large response history loads gradually.
- The forms list does not include questions, so Rig reads each form's definition separately. That is why form fields are their own table.
- To disconnect Typeform, click the bin icon on the source's row under
Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.
