Connect SCORM Cloud to Rig
Sync your SCORM Cloud courses and learner registrations into Rig, with completion, success, score and time tracked for every enrolment. A SCORM Cloud app has one App ID and Secret Key, so connect once per app.
Before you start
- You need access to the app in SCORM Cloud, and its App ID and Secret Key.
- If you run several SCORM Cloud apps, repeat the connection for each one.
Step 1: Find your App ID and Secret Key
- Sign in to SCORM Cloud and open the Apps tab.
- Open the app you want to sync.
- Open its Security tab and copy the App ID and the Secret Key.
Read-only use
Rig only reads from SCORM Cloud. The connection signs in with the App ID as username and the Secret Key as password.
Step 2: Connect it in Rig
Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.
- In Rig, open
Connections, choose theConnectorstab and go toSources & actions. - Search for SCORM Cloud, open the card and click
Connect. - App ID: Paste the App ID from the Security tab.
- Secret Key: Paste the Secret Key from the same app.
- Click
Continue. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and clickConnect. - The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click
Syncon its row;Testpulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.
What Rig pulls in
SCORM Cloud lands in its own scorm_cloud schema in your warehouse:
- Courses: your courses, read in full each sync with their current registration count.
- Registrations: one row per learner enrolment, with completion, success, score, time tracked, first and last access, the course and the learner's name and email.
SCORM Cloud v2 has no learner list, so each learner appears only as columns on their registrations.
Good to know
- Registrations sync incrementally on their updated time. Rig also re-reads every registration once a week to find deleted ones.
- SCORM Cloud returns registrations ten at a time, so a first load of a large app takes a while. Expect roughly 20,000 registrations an hour.
- Learner names and emails are personal data, so review who can read the registrations table in your warehouse.
- To disconnect SCORM Cloud, click the bin icon on the source's row under
Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.
