Connect Criteo to Rig

Sync your Criteo advertiser, campaigns and audiences into Rig so your AI tools can see how your retargeting and display structure is laid out. Criteo connects with the client ID and secret of an API app.

    Before you start

    • You need access to the Criteo Partners Portal for the advertiser you want to sync.
    • Know your advertiser ID. It appears in the Criteo URL after /advertisers/.

Step 1: Create a Criteo API app

    1. Sign in to the Criteo Partners Portal and open My apps.
    2. Click the plus button to create a new app. Give it a name and description, and choose Client Credentials as the authentication method.
    3. On the activation step, choose the Criteo service the app is for. Criteo's guide names C-Growth for Marketing Solutions.
    4. On the authorizations step, select the domains your app needs access to.
    5. Under App Credentials, click Create new key. Criteo downloads a text file that holds your client ID and client secret.

    Keep the key file
The secret sits in the downloaded file. If you lose it, create a new key and paste the new pair into Rig.

Step 2: Connect it in Rig

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

    1. In Rig, open Connections, choose the Connectors tab and go to Sources & actions.
    2. Search for Criteo Marketing Solutions, open the card and click Connect.
    3. Client ID: The client ID from the key file.
    4. Client secret: The client secret from the key file.
    5. Advertiser ID: The number in your Criteo URL after /advertisers/.
    6. Click Continue. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click Connect.
    7. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click Sync on its row; Test pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

    What Rig pulls in

Criteo lands in its own criteo schema in your warehouse:

    • Advertiser: the advertiser account you entered.
    • Campaigns: your campaign list with its settings.
    • Audiences: the audiences defined for the advertiser.

Rig reads the account structure. It does not load daily spend, click or conversion statistics from Criteo.

    Good to know

    • Criteo access tokens last 15 minutes and Rig refreshes them during each sync, so you never handle tokens yourself.
    • Rig reads a pinned version of the Criteo API (2025.10). Criteo releases a new version every quarter and gives about 12 months before it retires an old one.
    • One connection covers one advertiser. Add the source again for each extra advertiser.
    • To disconnect Criteo, click the bin icon on the source's row under Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

    What people use this for

    • Keep an inventory of campaigns and audiences
    • Check campaign naming and structure against your other channels
