Connect Snapchat Ads to Rig

Sync your Snapchat organisations, ad accounts, campaigns, ad squads, ads and creatives, plus daily campaign stats, into Rig. Snapchat Ads connects through a Snapchat sign-in.

    Availability
Rig enables this connection on request. Contact us and we will turn it on for your workspace.

    Before you start

    • Sign in with a Snapchat user who can access the ad accounts you want to sync. The access token carries that user's permissions, so Rig only sees what they can see.

    Connect it in Rig

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

    1. In Rig, open Connections, choose the Connectors tab and go to Sources & actions.
    2. Search for Snapchat Ads, open the card and click Connect.
    3. Click Authorize with Snapchat Ads, sign in and approve the consent screen, then choose the streams you want.
    4. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click Sync on its row; Test pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

    What Rig pulls in

Snapchat Ads lands in its own snapchat_ads schema in your warehouse:

    • Organisations and ad accounts: the accounts the user can reach.
    • Campaigns, ad squads and ads: the structure of your advertising. Snapchat calls ad sets ad squads.
    • Creatives: the creatives in each account.
    • Daily campaign stats: impressions, swipes, spend and conversions by campaign and day.

The first sync loads 90 days of stats.

    Good to know

    • Snapchat restates conversion figures for about 48 hours as attribution windows close, so Rig re-pulls the last couple of days on each run.
    • Snapchat access tokens last 60 minutes. Rig refreshes them with the stored refresh token during each sync.
    • The entity lists have no change filter in Snapchat's API, so Rig reads the whole hierarchy on every run. Volumes per account are small.
    • To disconnect Snapchat Ads, click the bin icon on the source's row under Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

    What people use this for
