Connect Pinterest Ads to Rig

Sync Pinterest ad accounts, campaigns, ad groups and ads, daily performance at four levels, and your organic boards, pins and pin analytics into Rig. Pinterest connects through a Pinterest sign-in.

    Before you start

    • You need a Pinterest user who can see the ad accounts you want to sync, owned by that user or shared through Business Access.
    • Rig asks for read access to ads, boards and pins: the ads:read, boards:read and pins:read scopes.

    Connect it in Rig

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

    1. In Rig, open Connections, choose the Connectors tab and go to Sources & actions.
    2. Search for Pinterest Ads, open the card and click Connect.
    3. Click Connect with Pinterest, sign in and approve the consent screen. This is the route to choose, because Pinterest rotates its refresh token on every use and Rig stores the new one for you.
    4. To limit the sync to some accounts, enter their IDs in the Ad account ID(s) filter, separated by commas. Leave it blank to sync every account the user can see.
    5. Skip the fields marked direct auth only: OAuth app ID (direct auth only), OAuth app secret (direct auth only) and Continuous refresh token (direct auth only). They are for teams that run their own Pinterest developer app and paste a refresh token.
    6. Choose the streams you want and click Connect. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it.

    What Rig pulls in

Pinterest Ads lands in its own pinterest_ads schema in your warehouse:

    • Ad accounts, campaigns, ad groups and ads: the full ads structure.
    • Daily reports: account, campaign, ad group and ad level performance by day.
    • Boards and pins: your organic boards and pins.
    • Pin analytics: daily analytics for each pin.

Daily reports reach back up to 914 days. Pin analytics reach back 90 days.

    Good to know

    • Pinterest conversions attribute over a 30 day click window and a 1 day view window, so recent days change. Rig re-pulls a trailing window once a day.
    • Pinterest access tokens last 30 days and refresh tokens last 60 days. A pasted refresh token that goes unused for 60 days dies, and the sign-in route avoids that.
    • Pin analytics need one call per pin, and Pinterest meters organic analytics at 60 requests a minute, so accounts with many pins sync slower.
    • To disconnect Pinterest Ads, click the bin icon on the source's row under Sources & actions. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

    What people use this for

    • Read paid and organic together
    • Handle Pinterest's long consideration window
    • Rank creative and boards by what they return
