In plain terms

Rig is AI-native data infrastructure. Think Stripe or Vercel, but for data.

We connect all your sources, build a brain that sits on top of them, and let your team and your AI tools reach that data safely. For a consumer brand that means every order, the ad spend that won it, the parcel that shipped it and the refund that came back all read as one story, so margin is a number you can trust rather than a number you rebuild.

What you'd build

## What a consumer brand builds first

These are projects, not features. Each one is a thing brands already try to do in a spreadsheet, and each one names the systems it reads, so you can tell whether we have actually thought about your stack.

### True contribution margin

Margin after cost of goods, shipping, 3PL pick-and-pack, payment fees and returns, at SKU and order level. The number most brands see once a quarter, because assembling it by hand means five exports and a reconciliation nobody has time for.

Shopify · ShipBob · Stord · Xero · Stripe

### Blended CAC and channel mix

What a first-time customer actually cost this week, measured against orders in Shopify rather than against each platform's own reported conversions. Summed up, the platforms will always claim more orders than you sold.

Meta Ads · Google Ads · TikTok Ads · Amazon Ads · Shopify

### Subscription cohorts and repeat rate

Subscription state joined to order history, so you can see who lapses after box two, which flow held them, and what a retained subscriber is worth against one who churns at the first renewal.

Skio · Klaviyo · Postscript · Shopify

### Returns and refund leakage

Return rate by SKU, size and stated reason, netted off revenue so margin includes what came back. It is usually one size in one product line, and it is usually invisible in the storefront dashboard.

Frate Returns · parcelLab · Shopify

### Stock cover and sell-through

Units on hand across every 3PL and marketplace against current run rate, so a stockout on the best seller arrives as a warning rather than as a post-mortem.

Unleashed · ShipBob · ShipHero · Mintsoft · Amazon Seller Central

### Marketplace P&L

Amazon and Walmart revenue with referral fees, fulfilment charges, ad spend and returns netted off, sitting next to your own DTC margin on the same SKU. Marketplace usually looks worse than the seller dashboard says.

Amazon Seller Central · Walmart Marketplace · Amazon Ads · Sellerboard

### Creator and affiliate reconciliation

Attributed orders from your creator and affiliate platforms against what was actually invoiced, so payouts match performance instead of matching whatever the platform reported.

ShopMy · Skimlinks · GoAffPro · Archive

### The month-to-date tracker

The one finance view the whole business runs on, rebuilt from source every morning rather than assembled at month end once the accounts close. Suri runs theirs this way, and calls it a single source of truth across the business.

Challenge

Almost any question ended in a hand-edited spreadsheet export. Northbeam and Triple Whale were both in place, and neither could answer a question it had not been built for, while iOS checkouts had severed the attribution source chain underneath them. Contribution margin was only true once a quarter, after a round of back-and-forth between finance and whoever owned the data.

Solution

Rig centralised the company's sources into one governed warehouse, then rebuilt each metric against the monthly finance tracker Suri already trusted, used as an eval set: only definitions that scored inside the error boundary went to a human for sign-off. Net and gross revenue, contribution margin, AOV and LTV were certified once. The team then built their own cross-channel attribution model with a geo-split MMM on top of it.

- 40+ sources centralised, roughly 95% of the company's, in just shy of two months
- Metric sign-off went from a quarter of back-and-forth to a single 50-minute meeting
- Running the tracker as an eval set caught errors in the tracker itself, including SKUs carrying no cost of goods and costs booked into revenue that did not belong there
- A solo data function now outputs what would usually take a 10+ person team

## Your stack, connected and modelled

Rig Ingest syncs each of these into your warehouse on a schedule, and the context layer models how they join, so an order in Shopify, the spend that won it, the subscription it started and the parcel that shipped it are one story rather than four exports.

## Consumer brands on Rig, and the companies alongside them

Suri and Hunter & Gather are the consumer brands. Every tile says what that company actually does, because a logo wall that implies ten D2C customers when we have two is worth nothing.

## Common questions

We already run Triple Whale and Northbeam, why add Rig

Those are attribution dashboards with a fixed view of your data. Suri ran both and still ended up hand-editing spreadsheet exports, because a dashboard cannot answer a question it was not built for. Rig puts Shopify, Klaviyo, the ad platforms, your 3PL and your finance data in one governed warehouse, then lets anyone ask across all of it and build their own model on top. Suri built a cross-channel attribution model with a geo-split MMM that way.

Does Rig replace our warehouse

Only if you want it to. Rig can provision and run one for you, which is the usual choice for a brand with no data team, or it can sit on top of the Snowflake, BigQuery or Postgres you already have. The context layer and the governance work the same either way.

How long does it take to get a consumer brand connected

Suri centralised roughly 95% of the company's sources in just shy of two months, across more than 40 connectors covering storefront, retail, 3PL, freight, ads and finance. A brand with a smaller stack is faster. Rig manages the syncs, so there is no pipeline for your team to babysit.

iOS changes broke our attribution, can Rig fix that

Rig does not restore the tracking that privacy changes removed, and any vendor who says otherwise is selling you something. What it does is give you the raw order, spend, subscription and survey data in one place, so you can build and test your own model rather than trusting a black box. Suri's team ran their existing finance tracker as an eval set and scored each rebuilt metric against it.

Who uses this day to day, we do not have a data team

That is the normal case for a consumer brand. Suri runs a solo data function. The point of the context layer is that finance, growth and ops ask questions in plain English, in Claude or ChatGPT or a hosted dashboard, and get the same answer each time because the definitions live in one place.

Can we keep our agency in the loop

Yes. Access is role based, so an agency user can be scoped to campaign and spend data without ever seeing customer records or finance. Every query is logged.
