# Connect Jungle Scout (Cobalt) to Rig

Sync Jungle Scout sales estimates, share of voice and category data into Rig, so your AI tools can compare Amazon market signals with your own sales. This connector uses the Cobalt API, which Jungle Scout offers to enterprise customers, and signs in with an API key name and key.

## Before you start

- Your Jungle Scout plan must include API access on the Cobalt (enterprise) tier. Standard Jungle Scout subscriptions do not include it, so ask Jungle Scout if you are unsure.
- You need to be able to generate an API key on the **Developer** page of the Jungle Scout members area.
- Each API key is tied to a set of Amazon marketplaces. Rig reads the US marketplace by default.

## Step 1: Generate a Jungle Scout API key

1. Sign in at `members.junglescout.com`.
2. Open the **Developer** page and generate an API key.
3. Note the **Key Name** you give it. Jungle Scout shows the API key only while you generate it, so copy it straight away.

Keep the name and the key together
Rig needs both values. If you lose the key, generate a new one rather than looking for the old one.

## Step 2: Connect it in Rig

New to Rig? Watch how to find Connections

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

1. In Rig, open `Connections`, choose the `Connectors` tab and go to `Sources & actions`.
2. Search for **Jungle Scout (Cobalt)**, open the card and click `Connect`.
3. **Key name**: the name you gave the key in Step 1.
4. **API key**: the key Jungle Scout showed you in Step 1.
5. Click `Continue`. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click `Connect`.
6. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click `Sync` on its row; `Test` pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

## What Rig pulls in

Jungle Scout (Cobalt) lands in its own `jungle_scout` schema in your warehouse:

- **Categories**: the Amazon category list.
- **Share of voice**: brand share of voice results.
- **Sales estimates**: estimated sales for products.

Jungle Scout allows 300 requests a minute and 15 a second per account. Rig stays inside those limits.

## Good to know

- Jungle Scout's own API lists the marketplaces us, uk, de, fr, it, es, ca, mx, jp and in. Rig reads the US marketplace by default, and your key must be allowed to use it.
- This is a different product from Jungle Scout Data Cloud, which delivers files to an S3 bucket and uses different credentials. Use the Data Cloud connector for that.
- You can connect more than one Jungle Scout key, for example one per team.
- To disconnect Jungle Scout (Cobalt), click the bin icon on the source's row under `Sources & actions`. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

## What people use this for

- Research product opportunities and demand
- Track share of voice and estimated sales over time
- Estimate category trends and seasonality
