# Connect Intelligems to Rig

Intelligems runs price, shipping, content and offer tests on Shopify stores. Rig reads your experiences, their variations and the results for each variation, so you can compare test outcomes next to orders and margin.

## Before you start

- You need access to the Intelligems app with permission to open Integrations.
- The External API has to be switched on for your account. If you cannot see it, ask Intelligems support to enable it.

## Step 1: Enable the External API and copy the key

1. Sign in to Intelligems and open **Integrations**.
2. Find **Intelligems External API** and select **Enable**.
3. A pop-up shows your API key. Copy it. You can return to the same screen later to see the key again.

If the integration is missing
Intelligems turns External API access on per account. Contact Intelligems support and ask them to enable it for your store.

## Step 2: Connect it in Rig

New to Rig? Watch how to find Connections

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

1. In Rig, open `Connections`, choose the `Connectors` tab and go to `Sources & actions`.
2. Search for **Intelligems**, open the card and click `Connect`.
3. **API key**: Paste the External API key.
4. Click `Continue`. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click `Connect`.
5. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click `Sync` on its row; `Test` pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

## What Rig pulls in

Intelligems lands in its own `intelligems` schema in your warehouse:

- **Experiences**: every test and experience in your account, with its status and history.
- **Experience details**: the full configuration of each experience, including variations, key metrics, custom metrics and integrations.
- **Experience results**: one row per variation over the experience's whole lifetime, with metrics such as visitors, orders, net revenue, conversion rate and revenue per visitor. Each metric carries its uplift, its probability to beat baseline and its confidence interval.

## Good to know

- The Intelligems API is in beta. It reads the saved state of an experience, so changes still open in the editor do not show up until you save them.
- Results rows carry no control flag. Join the variation ID to the variations in experience details to tell the control from the others.
- The API allows about 50 requests per minute, and Rig stays under that, so a large account takes a little longer to load.
- To disconnect Intelligems, click the bin icon on the source's row under `Sources & actions`. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

## What people use this for

- See which tests are winning
- Measure the revenue impact of price tests
- Keep a history of every experiment
