# Connect Fireflies.ai to Rig

Rig syncs your Fireflies.ai meeting transcripts, the sentence-level detail behind them, summaries and users into your warehouse. You connect with an API key and can choose how far back to start.

## Before you start

- You need a Fireflies.ai account. The key reads the transcripts that account can see.
- Check your plan's API limits. Fireflies allows 50 requests a day on Free, 500 a day on Pro and 60 a minute on Business and Enterprise.

## Step 1: Get your Fireflies API key

1. Sign in at app.fireflies.ai.
2. Open **Integrations** and click **Fireflies API**.
3. Copy your API key.

## Step 2: Connect it in Rig

New to Rig? Watch how to find Connections

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

1. In Rig, open `Connections`, choose the `Connectors` tab and go to `Sources & actions`.
2. Search for **Fireflies.ai**, open the card and click `Connect`.
3. **Fireflies API key**: The key you copied.
4. **Earliest transcript date**: Leave it as it is to start from 1 January 2024. Enter an earlier ISO 8601 date, such as `2022-01-01T00:00:00.000Z`, to pull older meetings.
5. Click `Continue`. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click `Connect`.
6. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click `Sync` on its row; `Test` pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

## What Rig pulls in

Fireflies.ai lands in its own `fireflies` schema in your warehouse:

- **Transcripts**: One row per meeting with its title, date and summary.
- **Transcript details**: The sentence-level content of each transcript.
- **Users**: The people in your Fireflies workspace.

## Good to know

- Fireflies finishes a meeting's summary after the meeting starts, so Rig re-reads the last three days on each sync to catch late summaries.
- On the Free plan the 50 requests a day limit can slow a large first sync across several days.
- Fireflies answers with a normal response even when it throttles you, and Rig retries those rate-limited calls.
- To disconnect Fireflies.ai, click the bin icon on the source's row under `Sources & actions`. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

## What people use this for

- Analyse call transcripts at scale
- Track talk-time and topics by rep
- Surface objections and competitor mentions across sales calls
