# Connect AWIN to Rig

Sync AWIN affiliate transactions, your publisher directory and per-publisher performance into Rig, so your AI tools can follow commission from pending to confirmed. AWIN connects with an API token from your AWIN user menu.

## Before you start

- You need Admin access to the AWIN advertiser account you want to sync. Advertisers manage this under Account, then Account Permissions.
- Rig reads advertiser accounts. A publisher account token is not supported.

## Step 1: Create your AWIN API token

1. Sign in to AWIN and open `ui.awin.com/awin-api`, or click **API Credentials** in your user menu at the top right.
2. Enter the password you use to sign in to AWIN and click **Show my API token**.
3. Copy the token that appears.

The token belongs to you
It is a personal OAuth2 token, so it carries the access of the user who made it. Use a user who has Admin access to the advertiser account.

## Step 2: Connect it in Rig

New to Rig? Watch how to find Connections

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

1. In Rig, open `Connections`, choose the `Connectors` tab and go to `Sources & actions`.
2. Search for **AWIN**, open the card and click `Connect`.
3. **API token**: The token you copied from AWIN.
4. **Advertiser IDs**: Optional. Comma-separated AWIN advertiser account IDs. Leave blank to sync every advertiser account the token can see.
5. Click `Continue`. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click `Connect`.
6. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click `Sync` on its row; `Test` pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

## What Rig pulls in

AWIN lands in its own `awin` schema in your warehouse:

- **Transactions**: every affiliate sale with its status, commission and any amendments.
- **Publishers**: the publisher directory for your advertiser account.
- **Publisher report**: performance aggregated by publisher.

Rig re-pulls the last 120 days of transactions on every run, so sales that move from pending to confirmed or declined, and amended commissions, are picked up.

## Good to know

- A sale keeps its original transaction date when AWIN validates or amends it, so a plain date cursor would miss the final commission. The 120 day re-pull covers this.
- AWIN accepts at most 31 days of transactions per request. Rig loads history month by month, so a long first sync takes several requests.
- AWIN's creative report returned no data in our checks, so Rig does not sync it.
- To disconnect AWIN, click the bin icon on the source's row under `Sources & actions`. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.

## What people use this for

- Track affiliate sales from pending to confirmed
- Compare publisher performance
- Measure the cost of the affiliate channel
