# Connect Claude Enterprise to Rig

Sync Claude Enterprise cost and token usage, per-person daily activity across chat, Claude Code and Cowork, skill, connector and project use, and active user and seat counts into Rig. It uses the Claude Enterprise Analytics API and an Analytics API key.

## Before you start

- You need a Claude Enterprise organisation. Only the primary owner can enable public API access and create an Analytics API key.
- The cost and usage endpoints apply to usage-based Enterprise plans. On seat-based plans they reflect usage credits only.
- The key is not an Admin API key. A Claude Console organisation uses the Anthropic connector instead.

## Step 1: Create an Analytics API key

1. Sign in to claude.ai as the primary owner.
2. Go to **Organization settings** then **API** and enable public API access.
3. Create an Analytics API key. It carries the `read:analytics` scope.
4. Copy the secret and store it in your secrets manager.

## Step 2: Connect it in Rig

New to Rig? Watch how to find Connections

Adding a source needs a workspace owner, or a role with the Manage connections permission, on a workspace where you manage your own connections. If the Connectors tab says “Data ingestion for this workspace is managed by Rig”, ask an owner or Rig support to add the source.

1. In Rig, open `Connections`, choose the `Connectors` tab and go to `Sources & actions`.
2. Search for **Claude Enterprise**, open the card and click `Connect`.
3. **Analytics API key**: the key from Step 1.
4. Click `Continue`. Rig checks the credentials and lists the streams it can reach, so choose the ones you want and click `Connect`.
5. The source then syncs on its schedule, which is nightly unless you change it. To load data straight away, click `Sync` on its row; `Test` pulls a small sample first if you want to check the connection.

## What Rig pulls in

Claude Enterprise lands in its own `anthropic_enterprise` schema in your warehouse:

- **Activity summaries**: one row a day with active users, seats and adoption.
- **Usage and cost**: daily token usage and cost by product and model, for the organisation and for each person.
- **User activity**: one row per person per day, with a metrics object for each product.
- **Skill, connector and project use**: use per person per day of each skill, connector and chat project.

The per-person streams include employees' names and email addresses, and project names.

## Good to know

- Anthropic only holds data from 1 January 2026. Cost and usage start up to 364 days back, and the engagement streams start at that earliest date.
- Cost and usage can be revised until about 7 days after the month ends, so Rig re-reads the last 38 days every sync.
- Claude Code used through Amazon Bedrock is not in this API, and cost amounts arrive in cents.
- To disconnect Claude Enterprise, click the bin icon on the source's row under `Sources & actions`. Only whoever connected the source or a workspace owner can do this, and data already synced stays in the warehouse.
