Careers

# Join the crew

We're an early stage startup, building AI-native data infrastructure.

[Our co-founder on how we think about hiring](https://deliberateceo.substack.com/p/we-dont-hire-seniors-anymore)[Rig raised $2.8m Pre-seed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFsfZt_ccOs&t=0s)

## What we look for

/ 01

### High agency

Nobody here has the capacity to hand you a queue of tickets. You find the problem, decide what to do about it, and ship, then tell us what you did and what you learned.

/ 02

### AI-pilled

You already reach for AI first, at work and for fun, and you have built things with it that you did not have to build. We run lean by using AI deeply in everything we do.

/ 03

### Extraordinary talent

We would rather leave a role open than fill it. At this size every hire changes what the company is, so the bar is the top of the range rather than the average of the applicants.

/ 04

### Aptitude over credentials

You do not need to be a software engineer, or to have held the title before. We hire on what you have built and how fast you pick things up, and we teach the rest. We are all generalists here, hands-on and strong on details, at heart.

## Who you would be joining

Rig is [Toby Mather](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tobymather/), co-founder and CEO, who built and exited Lingumi and then ran product at Novakid, and [Jakub Langr](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jakublangr/), co-founder and CTO, who founded Hypermile (Y Combinator S20, sold to Konboi), wrote a best-selling book on generative AI and holds a US patent in AI climate tech. Our team consists of alumni of Palantir, EY, Oxford and LBS, with two companies founded and exited.

## Why work with us

### The tools are not the bottleneck

You get the best AI tools we can buy, including Rig itself. Nobody here is going to ask you to justify a seat licence that pays for itself in a morning.

### Early enough to matter

You would be joining somewhere between the 5th and 7th person. That means a real slice of the company, and scope that is limited by what you can carry rather than by an org chart.

### A product that is already live

Not a deck and a promise. Teams like [Cleo](https://rig.so/case-studies/cleo), [Birdie](https://rig.so/case-studies/birdie) and [Novakid](https://rig.so/case-studies/novakid) run on Rig today, and we raised a pre-seed six months ago.

### No BS, low ego

Both founders have been through the ringer on a startup before. Nobody here is precious about their own ideas, and disagreement is cheap and expected.

### You will be very close to customers

Whatever the role, you will talk to the people using Rig. The distance between noticing something and changing the product is days, not quarters.

### And the part that is not for everyone

5 days a week in the office in Shoreditch, and we work hard. We are grown ups with lives outside work, but this is not a remote job and it is not a quiet one. If that is a dealbreaker, we would rather you knew now.
